Understanding the deposit: rules, payments and refunds

The deposit takes on an undeniable importance for Bluwalk. By requiring the payment of a deposit, we can ensure the proper maintenance of our vehicles, as well as the necessary safety to avoid any financial background check of the client. This allows us to make our rental accessible to all.

We believe this approach benefits both our customers and Bluwalk, as it allows us to maintain a high level of trust and satisfaction by providing exceptional service to any customer.

 

Deposit value

The current net value of the deposit to be retained by Bluwalk is €1,398.00 (for companies), to which should be added the Imposto de Selo tax of 0.6%, so €8.39.
In the end, the total amount of the deposit to be provided will be €1,406.39.

For individual drivers, the deposit amount is €600.00, with the same conditions applied.


The number of deposits to be established is directly linked to the number of vehicles desired, with one deposit being paid for each vehicle.

 

Payment

Rules

Since a deposit is required for each vehicle, it is necessary to pay the deposit at the following times:

  • During the account opening process;
  • When making a new booking, if it will increase the number of rented vehicles.

If it is a replacement, the number of rented vehicles will not increase, so there will be no need to establish a new deposit.

Step-by-step

If you are at the process of opening an account, after signing the contract, Bluwalk will contact you to set the final details.

If you wish to increase your fleet, please contact us to request a new booking.

  1. During these calls, you will be asked about the deposit payment method you prefer: full payment or instalment in 3 interest-free months;
  2. In accordance with your choice, you will receive an email from Bluwalk with all the instructions for deposit payment;
  3. After the deposit payment, Bluwalk can send you the receipt by email upon request.

 

Refund

It is important to note that, after the delivery of the vehicle, additional costs, such as tolls, may surface.

For this reason, the security deposit will be returned within approximately 20 days of delivery of the vehicle and the customer's request, provided there are no outstanding claims or damages due to negligence.

If there are such pending processes, the deposit will only be refunded after the conclusion of these processes and clarification of all responsibilities.

The security deposit will only be validated for return once we are aware of all the credit notes issued in connection with the rental contracts.

Also, only the net value of the deposit will be considered for reimbursement, that is, without the value of the Imposto de Selo tax.

It should also be noted that all unpaid amounts will be deducted from the deposit, with only the remaining balance being refunded.


At last, if you have established a deposit but have not used any vehicle, Bluwalk will refund the entire value of the deposit, including the amount related to Imposto de Selo tax!
