To use your own vehicle for TVDE services, it must meet the following criteria:
- Up to 7 years old
- Minimum of 4 doors
- Maximum capacity of 9 seats
- Portuguese registration plate
- Eligible model on TVDE platforms
- You do not need to be the owner (authorization required)
These are the legal requirements to operate as a TVDE driver in Portugal.
Mandatory TVDE Insurance
To operate in TVDE, a specific insurance policy is required.
- Must be in the owner’s name
- Covers both professional and personal use
- Replaces standard car insurance
TVDE insurance is mandatory to work with platforms such as Uber and Bolt.
Vehicle Usage Agreement (Commodate Agreement)
The commodate agreement allows you to use the vehicle for TVDE activity.
- Valid for 1 year
- Non-binding
- The vehicle always remains the property of the owner
- Required if the driver is not the owner
This document is necessary to register the vehicle on TVDE platforms.
Mandatory Inspection (TVDE Inspection)
The vehicle must undergo a specific TVDE inspection.
- Annual requirement
- Approximate cost: €30
- Conducted at authorized inspection centers
It must include the following note:
