How to find fast-charging stations

In this article, we explain how to easily find fast-charging stations for electric vehicles using apps, maps, and other tools.

As electric vehicles become more popular, it’s essential to know where to charge your car quickly and efficiently. Fast charging allows you to recharge a significant portion of the battery in a short amount of time, making it ideal for ride-hailing drivers or those who travel long distances.

There are several easy ways to find fast-charging stations:

  1. Mobile apps

Apps like Miio or Evio let you see all the available stations near you on a map. With these apps, you can tell whether a station is fast or standard, check the price per kWh or per minute, view real-time availability, and get directions to the charging station.

  2. Google Maps

You can search for “electric charging” or “charging station” to find options near your location. In some cases, you can see the exact location of the station, check operating hours, and read reviews from other users. It’s a good option for a quick search, although it provides less detail than specialized apps.

  3. Public Charging Network

In Portugal, the public charging network is managed by MOBI.E, an organization that connects all charging stations and allows access through various operators and apps. This network includes stations located in cities, on highways, at shopping centers, and at rest stops. Through MOBI.E, you can use different apps and charging cards to access most of the stations available in Portugal.
